I’m Abigail Schum, formerly Abigail Smith, bear with me while I work on changing my name, it’s quite a process! I’m a graphic designer, freelance artist, and multidisciplinary creative from Winona Lake, Indiana, currently living in the Indianapolis area. I have been passionate about designing and problem-solving from a young age, and only after two years in business school did I begin to pursue that passion in a creative field. I am an effective problem solver who does not shy away from a challenge. I love to learn. I take inspiration from many art forms and I will apply ideas and techniques from any source I come across.

Combining my years of education in both business and fine art, along with my real-world experience with running and working for various organizations gives me a unique perspective on visual communication design that is consumer-driven, energetic, and always whole-heartedly genuine.

  • Alliteration, absolutely. When in doubt, rhyming is always my preferred philosophy.

Minimal Anchor Points. I love a good simple and clean vector, I often find myself doing this to de-stress.

Vanity Plates. The fact that people customize their cars with the silliest phrases truly makes my day. I have a whole album of pictures on my phone dedicated to personalized plates I find in the wild.

  • Humor, always! Anytime I’m stuck in a design pickle, I find it incumbent upon myself to find the comedy in the situation. A pun here, a little satire there, it tends to get the juices flowing.

  • I honestly have no preference. As long as it’s not Comic Sans I say anything goes.
